Editorial process and arbitration

Once an article is received, the review process will begin within seven (7) weeks, followed by three (3) additional weeks for final editing and publication, subject to the periodicity of Ceres. Journal of Engineering, Technology, Agricultural Sciences and Sustainable Development.

Stage 1: Internal Review (Pre-revision) - 2 weeks

In this stage, the following will be verified:

- The correspondence between citations and references.
- The thematic compatibility of the article with the disciplinary areas of the journal.
- The control and detection of plagiarism by means of specialized software.

At the end of this stage, the author will be notified if the article is accepted for external review or rejected.

Stage 2: External Peer Review - 5 weeks

The article will be evaluated by two expert reviewers under the double-blind system. In case of discrepancies between the reviewers, a third reviewer will be assigned to resolve them.

The reviewers will issue an opinion with one of the following categories:

- Accepted for publication.
- Accepted with mandatory corrections. The author must implement the required modifications before approval.
- Not accepted for publication.

The evaluation is based on the following criteria:

A. Content Criteria
1. Demonstrated mastery of knowledge.
2. Scientific rigor.
3. Theoretical and methodological foundation.
4. Actuality and relevance of the sources consulted.
5. Contributions to existing knowledge.

B. Formal and Presentation Criteria

1. Originality, pertinence and adequate length of the title.
2. Clarity and coherence in the argumentation.
3. Adequate structure of the abstract (objective, methodology, results and key words).
4. Logical organization of the text.

Evaluation Scale: Each criterion will be graded on the following scale: EXCELLENT, VERY GOOD, FAIR, POOR.

Once the review process is completed, the final decision will be communicated to the contact author by e-mail.

If the article is Accepted with mandatory corrections, the author will have a maximum of 15 days to send a revised version, accompanied by a letter responding to each of the observations made by the reviewers. The editor will decide whether the revised manuscript should be sent again to the same reviewers for final approval. Acceptance of the article for publication implies the assignment of reproduction and dissemination rights by any means to the journal.

The final decision (Accepted for publication or Not Accepted) will be made by the editor in conjunction with the Editorial Committee.

Stage 3: Final Editing and Publication - 3 weeks

Once the article is accepted, the final editing and layout process begins, in three (3) weeks, through the following process: (a) referral from the editor of the material accepted for publication, (b) style correction in Spanish and/or English language when required, (c) sending to the editor of the material with corrections to be sent to the authors, (d) referral to the editor by the authors of the verified material and with suggestions, so that he/she sends it again to the publisher, (e) diagramming, layout of the material which is also sent to the authors through the editor; assignment of DOI, and (f) publication of the material in electronic format on the journal's platform or website.

Prior to publication, authors must submit:

1. The final version of the article in Spanish or English, according to their preference.
2. A signed authorization for the reproduction of the text by the Editorial Committee of the journal.
3. Author's identification data, including full name, ORCID and e-mail address.

Rejected articles will be notified to their authors by e-mail.
