Abstract
Editorial introduction to the second issue of the first volume of Ceres Journal. The editor-in-chief presents a publication with a deliberately pluralistic focus, bringing together seven contributions in fields such as agronomy, agroecology, animal health, computer science, the philosophy of development, geopolitics, and organizational management. Notable articles include studies on the evaluation of tarwi (Lupinus mutabilis) genotypes in the Amazonian Jalca region of Peru, eco-education and agroecology in Venezuela, the diagnosis of bovine trypanosomiasis in Zulia state, emotional labor and strategic communication in the blue crab industry, the epistemological foundations of development models, the transition toward a conflict-ridden world order and its threats to sustainable development, and a static analyzer for the C language inspired by Rust’s memory ownership model. The issue underscores the conviction that today’s major challenges—food security, sustainability, and coexistence—are inherently multidisciplinary, and reaffirms the journal’s commitment to rigorous evaluation, a diversity of voices, and dialogue between science and local knowledge.
